Questing in Norwell

by Sam

So yesterday, my friends and I were hanging out, and we decided to do another Quest- this time in Norwell. We ended up at the South Shore Natural Science Center (no I never knew it existed before either)- it was amazing! Definitely one of the best quests we’ve done so far.

Just off of RT123, the center is basically a giant reservation of wooded trails with streams, bridges, and tons of wild life. I was a big fan of the Barred Owl they have caged by the main building (it was hit by a car and they rescued it; now it lives safely in captivity).

the owl!

It took us about half an hour to walk through the woods and find all the clues we needed to uncover the quest box, but it was well worth it. We saw a lot of really cool little natural phenomenons (there’s a tree with an ‘eye’) and actually learned a lot of random facts about the area. Example: there are blueberries growing inthe swamp!

Anyways, I can’t believe we never knew this place existed. Hopefully we can go back soon- there were a  lot of trails we didn’t get to yesterday. Plus, it looks like it would be a fun place to bike.

And, of course, we need to visit the owl.
