Exploring & Escapades

bits & pieces of my travels

Month: September, 2015

Hello from England, our new home. This isn’t the first time I’ve ever been to London, but it IS Vince’s first – so naturally we had to do ALL of the most touristy things. I’ll be in the city nearly every day for class and for work, but for him, London will be much more of a sporadic adventure (we’re living in Cambridge, about an hour north). We had a fabulous day exploring… with not even one drop of rain (yes, not even one!). I’m so excited to call this city home for the next several years. If you have any insider tips, please share. Cheers!

Sweet Berry Farm, Again

I know I post pictures from this little farm in Rhode Island all the time; it’s because it really, truly is one of my favorite places in all of the world. That’s why I wanted to come here with my brother and sister for my last day in America before moving to England. It was such a weird day – cloudy, hazy, even rainy on the drive down – but we didn’t let that stop us from picking bunches of apples, feasting on banana bread, and frolicking in the sunflowers. This is one of the things that I’m definitely going to miss the most.

Fort Hill

Exploring beautiful Fort Hill and the Penniman House on the Cape (and playing with my brand new camera). I used to come here to hike with my family when I little – I even wrote about it in the diary I had at age five: “We walked in the woods and got very wet.” THAT is one of my favorite early memories… Anyways, as you can see from the pictures, we did NOT get even a little wet this time. It was a beautiful day. I mean absolutely beautiful. I love it here. It always reminds me to slow down, to appreciate the simpler things in life.

Nauset Light, Eastham, Cape Cod. Summer, never end.
