Barcelona

Parrots in palm trees. Protests in the street. Pandamonium. People, everywhere. A day defined by movement, and lack thereof.

Orange trees and succulents, everywhere.

Barcelona welcomed me with the usual chaos that I’ve come to expect from Spain – and with the sweet, palpable smell of cilantro on the sidewalk, in the air. Energy, wildness… inefficiency and confusion. Everyone, here to party; every man for himself.

No plans, except to see a cousin. No expectations. I woke up to a beautiful, slow sunrise over the Pyrenees, and then walked down the boulevard into the chaos of the city, into the bright sun.
